The Siegfried Group, LLP is an innovative, growth-oriented firm and is currently looking for an Accounting Manager to support the Finance Department. The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading several day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, revenue reconciliations, employee expense process and supporting the Assistant Controller and Controller with the monthly general ledger close process, which includes preparing reconciliations of key accounts and reviewing general ledger accounting data.  They also play a key role in select special projects, working closely with Siegfried Business Systems and Workday consultants to drive accuracy and efficiency throughout our financial operations.

This role reports to the Controller and works closely, and collaborates with, the Assistant Controller, Financial Operations and key functional leaders and teams.  We are looking for an energized, self-starter with critical thinking abilities who can help drive our monthly close process and strengthen key processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Company’s Accounts Payable operations, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the departments' reporting goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Accounts Payable team members to drive a culture of customer service, continuous improvement, and vigorous application of process protocols
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement in all financial transaction streams under management including but not limited to – elimination of rework, reduction of waste, implementation of tools to drive efficiencies, reduced defects/errors, and improvement of internal controls
  • Development, reporting and monitoring of key departmental KPI's and metrics
  • Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained for the payment of invoices
  • Ensure accounts payable are paid in concert with negotiated terms and discounts
  • Oversee the 1099 year-end reporting process
  • Oversight and monitoring of regular data integrity audits to ensure AP system is in sync with other internal systems and that vendor information is accurately set up
  • Oversee Expense Reporting administration and Corporate Card issuance
  • Review and initiate check printing, ACH, and Wire payments in banking systems
  • Identify defects in upstream processes that impact outgoing payments and partner with departments responsible for these upstream processes to implement improvements
  • Oversee reconciliation and accrual procedures required within the monthly financial close process for Accounts Payable and Prepaids
  • Co-ordinate with the Information Technology team to ensure effective systems in place to streamline processes and reduce cost to process payable transactions
  • Acts as primary liaison between finance and other functional areas of the business
  • Coordinates the evaluation, development, and maintenance of the Company’s financial controls
  • Supports the budgeting and forecasting efforts through variance analysis
  • Support Assistant Controller with month-end and year-end closings
  • Support Controller with quarterly audit reviews, and year-end audit
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field with 5 years of combined public/private accounting experience within a fast-paced environment requiring judgment and flexibility
    • Excellent general accounting and account reconciliation skills with GAAP knowledge
    • Experience in month end close process through financial statement preparation, or comparable public accounting knowledge from an audit perspective
    • In depth knowledge and understanding of internal controls
    • Advanced knowledge of sophisticated financial systems
    • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and Excel
    • Ability to prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks under pressure
  • Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Prior supervisory experience of professional staff, with the ability to lead process improvement efforts
  • Preferred:
    • Completed CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or progression towards
    • Workday experience
